The recent rise in mortgage rates combined with the 10-year Treasury yield is one of the reasons why the affordability of homes is a hot topic again. Economists and analysts often talk about affordability, but there is no one central way to measure it. Most measures take home prices, mortgage rates, and average incomes into account.
